Introduction to Centering Prayer

Centering Prayer is a receptive method of silent prayer that prepares us to receive the gift of contemplative prayer. It does not replace other kinds of prayer but is a discipline that allows a person to move beyond conversational prayer to resting in communion with God. This Introduction is a one-day presentation and will be followed by four weekly meetings. This is designed to help ground individuals in the practice, to provide a forum for reviewing and discussing the introductory material, and to be a kind of support group for the prayer practice. Dates and times for the weekly meetings will be determined at this Introduction. Presenter: Molly Lovelock, Mississippi Valley Centering Prayer. Sat. Sept. 21, 10 am-3 pm; Fee: $50 (includes lunch).
